One photo, a whole squad of you

The clone video is the trick that makes people rewatch: one person, then two, then a whole line of the same person, all moving together. It used to take a tripod, several takes and careful masking in an editor. Here it starts from your own photo, and every copy in the line is you.

How to make it

  1. Add a photo. A clear, front-facing selfie works best; one photo of two people works too.
  2. Keep Clones selected. Or pick another effect from the grid.
  3. Make it. In a few minutes the clip is ready to download.

Tips for better clones

  • Full body reads best. A photo from the knees up or a full-length shot gives the line of clones room to stand.
  • Light your face evenly. Every copy follows the face in the photo, so a sharp picture matters more than the background.
  • Bring a friend. Two people cloned into one crowd is the version people share.

More effects and a rap

The same photo works with the other effects too: Earth Zoom Out, Money Rain, Giants, Disintegration and more on the AI video effects page, or the Earth zoom out on its own. Or switch to the Rap video tab and make a rap starring you and a friend with the AI rap generator.

FAQ

AI clone video: questions

  • Add a clear photo (a selfie, or one of you and a friend), keep Clones selected, and tap Make the effect. In a few minutes the AI renders a clip where copies of you step out one after another until a whole row of you stands side by side.

  • No. The classic clone trick means filming the same spot several times and masking the takes together. Here one photo is enough: every copy is rendered in one shot, so there is nothing to line up or mask.

  • Yes. Use one photo of both of you, or add a photo of each person: the clip then fills up with copies of both of you, side by side.

  • It starts at 5 seconds: 5 credits at 720p or 2 credits at 480p; you can make it longer or sharper before rendering. One-time packs: $6.99 for 14 credits, $29 for 75, $99 for 340, $199 for 800, or $499 for 2500. A 720p, 12-second video uses 10 credits; a 480p, 5-second video uses 2. The studio shows the cost before generation.

  • They follow the face in your photo, so a sharp, front-facing picture gives the most recognisable copies. Hats, sunglasses and hair over the face make it harder.
